ERAS 2026 Nephrology Fellowship Applications

Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) data on the appointment year (AY) 2026 nephrology Match indicate:

• Nephrology candidates were down 6% compared with the ERAS 2025 application cycle. Yet applications were up 3% year over year, with average applications per candidate rising to 30.2.
• International medical graduate candidates (IMGs) were up 3%.
• There were 86 allopathic candidates in July, but osteopathic candidates declined 35% (from 84 in AY 2025 to 54 in AY 2026).
• A simple least squares model predicts with a total of 341 candidates in July a potential for ~333 matched nephrology fellows for AY 2026.
