ERAS 2026 Nephrology Fellowship Applications

Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) data on the appointment year (AY) 2026 nephrology Match indicate:

• Nephrology candidates were down 3.5% compared with the ERAS 2025 application cycle. Although applications were up 4.3% year over year, average applications per candidate dropped to 12.2.
• International medical graduate candidates (IMGs) were up 5%.
• There were 95 allopathic candidates as of September, but osteopathic candidates declined 37% (from 93 in AY 2025 to 59 in AY 2026).
• A simple least squares model predicts with a total of 341 candidates in July a potential for ~333 matched nephrology fellows for AY 2026.
